本片在韓國某網站舉行的“07下半年最受期待的電影作品”的票數評選中列在第一位，可見其受矚目的程度。前作講述校園耐力部和健美操部之間的男女“化學效應”故事，本片則變身爲K-1俱樂部和遊泳部，導演表示《色即是空2》在表達“性是多麽愉快和健康，對生活更有重大的正面影響力”的主題上比前作更具說服力和深度。假如《色即是空》僅僅是以“性”取樂，相信不會創造那個如今看來近乎神話的票房成績，陰差陽錯、弄巧成拙的情節設置在“性”的點綴下變得令人回味的笑料，總能在最熱鬧之處添加少許煽情之筆，借其加深影片的社會意義。哪怕多麽老掉牙的劇情和濫俗的橋段，經過這麽新鮮的包裝後能撓到觀衆心癢處，令人忘掉情節的誇張和不合理之處，只顧隨著角色的情緒一起喜怒哀樂。從這個意義上來講，續篇要想超越前作的口碑和票房，恐怕是很困難的事情。從曝光的預告片來看，似乎把宣傳的重點放在了性感的劇情上，在好萊塢大片轟炸韓國影院的12月上映，能否突破重圍也還是個未知數。

宋智孝坦言《色即是空》的票房和口碑都很好，對于出演續篇的她假如說沒有壓力的話，那是不可能的，但她被其他的制作人員的信心所感染，也確定本片會比前作品更加刺激有趣。由于宋智孝飾演的是遊泳幹將的角色，真實的遊泳練習場面在片裏占的比重很大，所以在電影開拍前她和李花善特意到韓國國家隊選手練習的地方蠶室遊泳場接受爲期2個月的基本動作、呼吸法等專業課程的練習。在國家隊教練的親自指導下，宋智孝瘋狂練習遊泳的拼命程度到了“流淚、流血的地步”，她自言“現在的遊泳姿勢已達到專業級的水准”。巧合的是，她的母親過去曾是專業的遊泳選手，所以她也在媽媽那裏獲得了不少秘訣。她自從練習遊泳後體重減輕了不少，但爲了保持角色豐滿的性感身段，她不得不靠多吃來維持體重。影片拍攝水中戲份時正值9月份進入寒凍的季節，天天必須在水中呆很長時間的宋智孝雖然感覺從未有過的艱難，但咬緊牙還是堅持下來了。

沒想到俄羅斯人的動作設計也能酷到如此程度，由俄羅電影《守夜人》導演Timur Bekmambetov打造，Angelina Jolie、James McAvoy、Morgan Freeman、Common出演，又是一部根據漫畫改編的電影，但是動作無疑是最酷的。

2008年最期待動作電影之一！
